Update on Dr. & Mrs. Jeudy

Hello,

First of all, thanks for all the messages with the assurance of your prayers for this situation with Dr. & Mrs. Jeudy and their visa application. It was a great encouragement to us.

Sadly, they were not granted their visas today. They have a 17-yr-old son who they sent to the States after the earthquake to live with an Uncle so he could continue his school year. He has remained there this year too. His parents thought it best for him and for his schooling. He has his permanent US residency. Dr. & Mrs. Jeudy were told today that if he returns to Haiti and renounces his residency, they will grant them their visas. None of this makes any sense and we do not understand why they are demanding this. It is frustrating to us because we would like to help and meet with the consulate officers to see if there is anything we can do, but it is next to impossible to get in to do this. We understand that the applicants must prove themselves on their own, but sometimes it seems so senseless how they make decisions as to who gets granted a visa and who doesn't.

At the same time, we are at peace trusting God in his sovereignty and in his knowing what is best for the Jeudys in this situation. They haven't made a decision yet because it is a big decision to ask their son to give up his residency because it might mean he would never get it again and that would limit possibilities for his future. As you think of this situation, please continue to pray for them as parents as they need much wisdom in making a decision. Please pray for them to be filled with God's peace in the midst of dashed plans and hopes.

Please pray for us to know if there is anything we can or should be doing. Since their first meeting on July 11th, we have written numerous emails to the Consulate department - many times just getting a form response. There is one hour each day that you can contact the Consulate by phone to talk about pending applications, but we haven't gotten anywhere with that either. If there is someone who has a connection that might help in this situation, God could direct us to them.

Again, thank you for standing with us in prayer for this situation. In the end, no matter what happens, we know that God will receive the glory because His plans are perfect and they will be accomplished.

Love and thanks,
Bruce & Cindy
